An extensive 60-day voyage through Australia was terminated days after the death of an senior woman who was left behind by the ship on a remote island.

The passenger had been hiking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but broke off from the excursion for a pause. The ship left without her and returned after some time after the crew discovered the woman was not present.

A major rescue mission located her person the following day.

Officials are investigating the incident, together with law enforcement and the official investigator.

Chief Executive of the cruise operator announced that guests and crew on the Coral Adventurer were told that the rest of the cruise had been called off due to the "sad loss and earlier engine troubles".

Through an announcement, he added that guests would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to organize the return journeys of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

Regulatory bodies also published an revised communication, and said they had "issued a notice to the Master" preventing any additional guests from boarding the liner.

The spokesperson said that they would visit the vessel in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The ship initially left Cairns on October 24th, and was only 48 hours into the expedition at the point of the 80-year-old's death. Lizard Island was the first stop on the voyage.

The offspring of the deceased woman said that her loved ones was "stunned and grieved that the liner left the location after an organised outing without my mother".

"Based on limited information we have been told, it seems that there was a lapse of responsibility and ordinary reasoning," she stated.

She continued that she hoped the examination would be able to pinpoint what "the operator should have done that might have saved Mum's being".

"We understand from the police that it was a very hot afternoon, and she took sick on the uphill trek," she revealed.

"They requested her to go back, alone. Then the ship sailed away, reportedly without conducting a roll call.
