Vinted Users Express Anger Over Size Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.

Social Media Reaction

Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping.

The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Sizing System Changes

Previously, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

User Experiences

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she stated.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Platform Context

The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
